Obama, ACORN and Stealth Socialism
by Randy   MAY 29, 2010 5:21 PM

HotAir.com has posted an excellent blog entry written by Anita Moncrief.  It describes in great detail the connections between Obama, and ACORN and socialism.  Ms Moncrief was an insider and voted for Obama;

From October 2005 until 2008, I did fundraising work with ACORN and used political donor lists. All Democrat: Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Democratic National Committee. When I appeared as a guest on “The O’Reilly Factor” last year, I said that ACORN had served for years as an unofficial arm of the Democratic Party, but Bill O’Reilly didn’t discuss that with me. Ignoring it is exactly what the stealth socialists want.

 This is quite a long article, but well worth the read.  It is unfortunate that this article was posted on the Saturday of the Memorial Day weekend. Many will miss it all together. You can find it here.

Steve Wynn Takes on Washington
by Randy   MAY 29, 2010 7:19 AM

Steve Wynn, CEO of Wynn Resports is unhappy with Washington DC. Very unhappy;  "No one has any idea what’s next…the uncertainty of the business climate in America is frightening, frightening to everybody, and it’s delaying the recovery."

The Message Is - There Is No Message
by Randy   MAY 22, 2010 12:46 PM

The NextRight has a blog entry by Skip MacClure that sums up the current tactics of the Obama administration;

If we compiled a list of the top 100 things an administration should not do, Obama’s government would have used up these and more. But then it is the path they would travel if they were purposely trying to destroy the foundation of the country and create a Marxist-Socialist state.

CBO: Inflation Ahead?
by Randy   MAY 12, 2010 7:59 AM

The CBO's report to Congress (June 2009) on the Long Term Budget Outlook is not a good outlook. The report starts out with this statement;

Under current law, the federal budget is on an unsustainable path—meaning that federal debt will continue to grow much faster than the economy over the long run. Although great uncertainty surrounds long term fiscal projections, rising costs for health care and the aging of the U.S. population will cause federal spending to increase rapidly under any plausible scenario for current law. Unless revenues increase just as rapidly, the rise in spending will produce growing budget deficits and accumulating debt. Keeping deficits and debt from reaching levels that would cause substantial harm to the economy would require increasing revenues significantly as a percentage of gross domestic product (GDP), decreasing projected spending sharply, or some combination of the two.

Later it discusses inflation;

Theoretically, one way to reduce government indebtedness would be to adopt a policy of higher inflation. That approach would lower the real value of the government’s debt and provide relief in the short run. But printing money is not a feasible long-term strategy for dealing with persistent and rising debt. Although an unexpected increase in inflation would let the government repay its debt in cheaper dollars for a short time, financial markets would not be fooled for long, and investors would demand higher interest rates going forward. If the government continued to print money to reduce the value of the debt, the policy would eventually lead to hyperinflation (as occurred in Germany in the 1920s, Hungary in the 1940s, Argentina in the 1980s, Yugoslavia in the 1990s, and Zimbabwe today). Such hyperinflation would severely reduce economic efficiency as people moved away from monetary transactions.

Moreover, even if inflation was eventually brought back under control, the resulting loss of confidence would keep interest rates elevated for some time. High inflation causes governments to lose credibility in financial markets; once that credibility has been lost, lowering expectations about inflation can be difficult. In the end, printing money to finance deficits cannot address the fundamental problem that spending exceeds revenues.

The unfortunate thing is the recently passed health care bill will exacerbate the problem by further increasing the debt. I can't wait for the CBO's 2010 outlook report. It should be a doozy.

Brainwashing or 'Don't drink the Kool Aid'
by Linda Stanton   MAY 11, 2010 5:30 PM

This week I was able to hear Maria 'Hansi' Hirschmann at the Woodbury Prayer Breakfast and the Intellectual Takeout Event held the next day. Hansi truly captivated the audience with her story of struggle and faith. One aspect I could relate to was that she said she had been "brainwashed" by those working for Hitler. That's a term we haven't heard for a while.

The brainwashing she experienced was total, being trained at age 14 to be a 'Hitler Youth' leader. She became a true believer to the very end. When Germany lost WW2 and Hitler killed himself, she was totally devastated. You see, Hitler had chosen her, a poor orphan from her village and paid for her education. She lost her faith in God during that time and believed the lies she was told of the "Master Race" and the "Arian Nation".

Tarryl Clark Launches Smear Site Against Michele Bachmann
by Randy   MAY 06, 2010 12:17 AM

The Huffington Post reports that Terryl Clark Democrat challenger to Michele Bachmann has launched a smear site against her.  The site named Michele Bachmann Said What evidently is supposed to alarm people about Michele. I for one am so glad Michele Bachmann is my Congresswoman.

Interestingly Clark may not be very proud of her new site as she has elected to hide her campaign committee's ownership in it. DomainTools shows the domain owners name is hidden, by using a Proxy owner.

I wonder what William Labovitch, Outreach Director, DFL Senate District 57 and smear blog worrier would think of such a site under the his own party's direction.

BP Attacks Oil Spill from Multiple Angles
by Randy   MAY 03, 2010 3:17 PM

The major oil leak in the gulf has caused a lot of finger pointing by the government, and some by BP, but BP is continuing its huge effort to stop the flow of crude oil in the gulf region.

BP has expanded its plan of attack on the leaking oil well in the Gulf of Mexico.  It has built large concrete domes to place over the leaks to capture and seal off the leaks. It has brought in a second drilling rig to drill relief wells which will try and stop the flow from the damaged well.

It is evaluating installing a second BOP (blow out protection) device on top of the existing one. The second BOP is already on one of the rigs that have moved into position. On the environmental side BP has already installed 180,000 feet of oil barrier booms and has up to 300,000 feet being deployed and more on order.

Tom Emmer for Governor
by Randy   MAY 01, 2010 8:17 AM

Tom Emmer was endorsed at the MN GOP Convention Friday, as Marty Seifert conceded after the second round of ballots. Seifert called for  unanomous for Emmer as the audience cheered. It was pretty classy of Marty to concede instead of drawing out the endorsement process with additional rounds of ballotting.  Tom Emmer selected Annette Meeks for lieutenant governor.

Pat Anderson was endorsed for State Auditor on late Thursday, actually early Friday morning at 3:30AM.  Dan Severson was endorsed for Secretary of State on Thursday as well.
